Largely known for her work with Alzheimer’s patients and families inside the doors of Friends Place Adult Day Services, Jane Kovacs recently had the spotlight shown upon her for her outstanding work throughout the Richardson community.
On Friday, October 25, Friends Place Co-Owner and Director Jane Kovacs was honored by Altrusa International, Inc. at their annual Outstanding Women of Today – Builders of Tomorrow luncheon.
The Outstanding Women of Today award is a distinguished honor for professional accomplishments. Nominees are saluted for their determination, innovation and contributions to their industries and communities.
Companies, organizations, and individuals may nominate women in one of six categories: Small Business (fewer than 50 employees), Education, Government, Nonprofit, Corporate and Outstanding Woman of Tomorrow (any woman under 35 in any of the above fields). Friends Place’s director was nominated in the Small Business category.
Altrusa International, Inc. is a non-profit organization of members from all walks of life united in community service. It was organized in 1917 in Nashville, Tennessee and currently consists of 392 clubs in 19 countries. Through leadership, partnership and service, Altrusa works to enrich local communities.
The luncheon, benefitting the Altrusa service projects and scholarships, was attended by 300 civic leaders, including Richardson Mayor Laura Mackza and City Council members.
Jane’s leadership and devotion to bettering the lives of families affect by Alzheimer’s and related dementias both at Friends Place and all throughout the Dallas area make her a winner in all of our hearts. Congratulations on this much-deserved recognition, Jane!
