The Colony’s senior center fills its week with music. Tuesdays bring Pickin’ & Grinnin’, Thursdays an acoustic jam, and there is bingo, quilting and a book club besides. It is a lively place for older adults who can come and go on their own. When a parent’s memory starts to fail, though, a few hours at a senior center stops being enough, and families start searching for adult day care in The Colony. When we checked in September 2026, no directory listed an adult day program inside The Colony. Our Plano center at 4682 McDermott Road, built for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, is the nearest one we run: 8.7 miles from City Hall and about 14 minutes away. Our Richardson center, about 27 minutes by the President George Bush Turnpike, is a second option.
